Since Sabine Bungert graduated at Universität GHS Essen (Folkwang) she has been working for various newspapers and magazines next to her freelance art projects. Sabine Bungert‘s field of activity comprises architecture, potrait, travel and editorial as well as corporate communications for internationally active companies. She is a member of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie e.V. (DGPh).

Sabine Bungert’s freelance art projects has been exhibited in numerous museums, galleries and at photo festivals: Galerie 4 in Cheb (Czech Republic), Stadthaus Ulm, THE GÄLLERY – Raum für Fotografie (Staatsgalerie Stuttgart), Museum der Arbeit (Hamburg), Umweltfotofestival Horizonte Zingst, Sprengel Musem Hannover, LWL-Museum für Naturkunde (Münster), Kolga Tbilisi Photo Award (Georgia), Städtische Galerie Iserlohn, Ruhr Museum Essen, Frauenmuseum (Bonn), Wiesbadener Fototage and others.

In 2021 Sabine Bungert received the Georg Koppmann Preis für Hamburger Stadtfoto­grafie together with Stefan Dolfen, in the same year they got a scholarship by Stiftung Kulturwerk der VG Bild-Kunst for their project „Black Cowboys“. In 2016 they received a scholarship by Stiftung Kulturwerk der VG Bild-Kunst for the project „Diaolou – The watchtowers of Kaiping“.
