Jessie Straathof is a representative of naturalistic garden design in the Netherlands. She lives in an alternative, eco-friendly housing project. It´s called Oosterwold; it is a self-build initiative run by the city of Almere. Jessie’s collective consists of seven houses with large gardens. She has designed four of these gardens, together with the people who live there. The special thing is, that the gardens have an open connection, the challenge was to create privacy and enjoy each others garden at the same time.
