Landscape designer Jay Sifford has created a stunning garden in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. He has made a dream come true: The weekend home and the garden are situated in a valley of hundreds of rhododendrons. The black Dogtrot House (two separate sides with a shared roof and a passageway in the centre) is a perfect backdrop for the „Rhodwood“ garden.
The front garden is a meadow garden. Jay Sifford has planted hundreds of perennials and grasses. Conifers provide structure while the grasses and shrubs add movement and colour. Jay Sifford has planted in „patterns“ and blurred the transitions a little. It looks like a painting, it´s magical.
