The Vlinderhof was designed by the internationally renowned garden designer Piet Oudolf. The garden is part of the Máximapark near the city of Utrecht. It is a public garden and in many ways a unique project.
The Vlinderhof is the result of an initiative by a number of local residents who wanted Piet Oudolf to design the new garden. Piet Oudolf´s garden design is of exceptional beauty and the remarkable commitment of the residents, who look after the garden, makes it one of the most beautiful community gardens. The Vlinderhof is designed in the New Perennial Movement or the Dutch Wave. Perennials are combined with grasses to create a natural interplay of heights, structures and colours.
Karin Laarakker, one of local residents, tells the story of the Vlinderhof.
